On this first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the board, staff and volunteers at South Essex Community Council (SECC), honour the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and their communities. We commit ourselves to learning and understanding more about this painful history and the ongoing impact of residential schools.
Today, SECC staff had the opportunity to attend Caldwell First Nation’s Walk. We took steps to honour and remember the lives and spirits of those who attended Residential Schools. Along with Caldwell First Nation and local businesses, organizations, schools, and individuals, we walked to:
