Lend A Hand
Lend a Hand is a pilot project that will provide services to low-income seniors who need help to age at home, primarily through volunteers.
Light cleaning can be utilized weekly, monthly, or on occasion.
Eligibility
- 55 + years old
- Low-income
- Live in Wheatley, Leamington or Kingsville
- Assessment deems individual eligibility
Services
- Light House Keeping
- Wipe down kitchen/bathroom
- Vacuuming/sweeping/ mopping/dusting
- In-House laundry/bedding change
- Take out/bring in garbage and recycling to curb
- Snow Removal
- Yard Work – Trimming, Raking, Mowing
- Navigate and access other community services
Volunteer
- Timing is flexible according to your schedule
- Lend a Hand offers tailored training and support
- Will be provided with yardwork items
- Volunteers will require a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Open to all ages – Seniors, Youth, Families
